“Think positively and masterfully, with confidence and faith, and life becomes more secure, more fraught with action, richer in experience and achievement.”

So many things that happen in our lives are part of the little things we all experience everyday. Amazingly though, we tend to categorize those life experiences into either Column A or Column B, to be retrieved when and if we need them. The Column A list is a higher priority and includes life’s necessities/essentials which generally remain in the fore-front, where we can act on them at a moment’s notice. Column B items are not vital to the absolutes of our daily living but remain important for some reason or another. And there they stay, relegated to their position of importance for our lives.

___

Suddenly, for reasons we may not understand, something from Column B (perhaps even some seemingly insignificant thing), jumps right in front of our noses, and becomes a HUGE learning experience for us. And I have to wonder if we just do not pay enough attention to those Column B items when they first present themselves to us. Why is it that things need to give us a right upper-cut to the jaw, before we recognize the import of the lesson they carry? I am always amazed how we so often miss the boat in seeing that which was there, all along, which is that all things serve to teach us an absolute about faith, life, our ideals and our purpose for living! Then the lightening bolt struck (or perhaps it simply jumped out in front of my nose, preparing a fist aimed at my jaw)! From Proverbs 16:9 NIV, we are given the answer! “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

___

The moral for these lessons comes to us in its own time and only when God has deemed us ready to learn from it. And generally, to help us utilize the wisdom of those lessons, He inscribes the truths onto our very hearts and there the information sits, waiting for the moment of epiphany, when we will be compelled to recognize and then use their wisdom for our personal benefit!

___

Now I speak only of those things that are the battles or challenges that belong to man (us) to find a solution to, with His help, as opposed to those battles that remain His alone. The difference between the two is that despite the fact that the outcome affects us, we remain on the fringes, incapable of directing the course of His battles for our lives, ourselves! But no matter which lesson we do run with from Column A or Column B, all become an inspired lesson from the Father, since it is He that gives us the power of discernment, in the first place. But make no mistake…..all hold the potential to change us for all time. We are, after all, a work in progress until we breathe our last breath, are we not?

___

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:29-31 NLT
