It’s Where You’re Going That Counts!

“You must constantly ask yourself these questions: Who am I around? What are they doing to me? What have they got me reading? What have they got me saying? Where do they have me going? What do they have me thinking? And most important, what do they have me becoming? Then ask yourself the big question: Is that okay? Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.”

Jim Rohn

Is it where you are that matters in this life, or is it where you are going, that counts? Well, while we all exist in the here and now, it is the promise of change and the promise of a future that we all strive to move toward every day, which makes life better for us all, and which is the answer to what might just be the most important question any of us ever ask ourselves!

___

We all were born and are a part of a family, whether or not we remain closely tied to them right this second. We have all experienced and have grown from those monumental “firsts” that have paved life’s road for us. Our first love, our first car, our first home, our first paycheck. And while each and every one of these wonderful firsts come with a lesson that helps us to grow as a better human being, unless we have a goal for our lives, then we may be learning information, but we are missing the lesson! You see, life lies ahead, and into the unknown, and never behind! Which is why it is one four letter word that best describes what we aspire to and what God wants for us! H-O-P-E!

___

O all of the certainties in life, there are but two that might just be even more absolute than death and taxes. And they are the following:

  1. Man can never know with absolute certainty what tomorrow brings for and into our lives.
  2. God knows absolutely what the tomorrow He gives will bring for and into our lives!

___

Now, the really interesting thing to remember is the fact that the challenges we face today….the things that try to rob of us of our H-O-P-E and our faith, are no different that the challenges faced by mankind throughout history. But it is H-O-P-E that carries us forward and into the unknown….just has it has for the human race from the very beginning. And it is every step we take through life, leads us closer to God’s promises for us all. Isaiah 40:29-31 NKJV says it all! He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

___

So as you plan your road map that you H-O-P-E will carry you through to tomorrow, always make sure that you make room along your journey to include faith and our Heavenly Father. Because if you do, you will always align your goals with God’s goals for your life. You see, if we include Him and heed His little nudges, we “…will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm.” Proverbs 1: ..33 NIV.

___

No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:37-39 NKJV
