More Fun Facts Of Faith

Devil's Bible NGCUS - Ep Code: 3619

The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say.

Anaïs Nin

About 500 some odd years before the birth of Christ, there was a King by the name of Jehoiakim, who ruled in the Kingdom of Judah. Its seat of rule, and the palace of the king, was the city of Jerusalem.

Now King Jehoiakim was originally under the control (for lack of a better word) of the Egyptians. He was not a well liked leader, electing to heavily tax the people for Egypt. However, he was fickle, because as soon as the Egyptians were defeated by the Babylonians in 605 BC, King Jehoiakim jumped ship, aligning with Nebuchadnezzar II for 3 years before returning to an alliance with Egypt. He is perhaps best known for destroying a scroll containing a prophesy from Jeremiah! Interestingly, King Jehoiakim died around 598 BC, after Babylon and  Nebuchadnezzar II invaded Judah, laying siege of Jerusalem, and his body was thrown from the wall of the city!

I speak of King Jehoiakim to put into perspective a story of another man…..a little known man whose name is mentioned just a couple of times in the Bible, and yet is a man whose identity can be proved absolutely! You see, the man, Elishama, was the scribe or secretary for King Jehoiakim. And while there were 4 men named in the Bible with this same name including the grandfather of Joshua, two sons of David and a priest sent to teach matters of the law, the Elishama I am referring to is the one spoken of in the book of Jeremiah, in the 36th chapter. (First in  Jeremiah 36:11-12 NIV, “When Micaiah son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, heard all the words of the Lord from the scroll, he went down to the secretary’s room in the royal palace, where all the officials were sitting: Elishama the secretary, Delaiah son of Shemaiah, Elnathan son of Akbor, Gemariah son of Shaphan, Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the other officials.” And again in Jeremiah 36:20-21 NIV, “After they put the scroll in the room of Elishama the secretary, they went to the king in the courtyard and reported everything to him.The king sent Jehudi to get the scroll, and Jehudi brought it from the room of Elishama the secretary and read it to the king and all the officials standing beside him.”)

My intent was not a lesson in Bible verses, although we all will benefit from that, now that I think about it. No, I wanted to share with you all, this interesting fact that I discovered. In 1986, during an excavation outside of Jerusalem, a relic was found. A clay seal, once used to seal official documents circa 2500 BC, was found. Its authenticity was confirmed by scientific methods. Translated on its face were these words: “Elishama, servant of the King”. Now I don’t know about you, but it takes my breath away to see such evidence found that proves the words and the facts as given to us by the authors of the books of the Bible, were, indeed, given to man by God the Father! Even something and someone as insignificant as a man by the name of Elishama!

“…and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work..”

2 Timothy 3:15-17 NIV

  1. Amanda – Jesus Christ is attempting to bring you home. The Universal Life Church World Headquarters needed to act against a Minister for viciously attacking another with malice. To this day I am flabbergasted that this so called said what he did on Facebook about another human being. I am a public figure, as a result I am open to such attacks, but no one will will attack one of our Ministers and continue within our organization. There is no need for you to punish yourself, by now you could of been on iHeartRadio with a substantial congregation of twenty million or more, individuals that could of also benefited from your writing. Jesus Christ blessed you with a gift, not to deprive individuals, but rather to help your brothers and sisters. We will continue our growth and we will delivering the Good News to more and more folks throughout the world, as I said I believe Christ wants you to be a part thereof. ~ Brother Michael

    • Thank you for reaching out.

I very much enjoy the daily readings that are coming from you all at the ULC. However, while my faith is growing exponentially every day, and I am still writing prolifically, I have become more involved in changing the lives of children in my community who are the victims of abuse and neglect. And the place where I am now, affords me the opportunity to do that. It is a more quiet and peaceful place where I now dwell, and that is exactly where God needs me to be since my husband has also been very sick this year.

I admire the changes I see happening with you and the growth within the ULC is amazing. I will continue to follow your progress in the days ahead!

      Thank you for writing.

      • Your duties as a guardian ad litem are admirable, however God has blessed you with a talent to reach out and to help folks with your writing. Placing your articles on pages with little or no readership are doing your talents a grave injustice. What do you think Jesus Christ would want? I believe he would want you to reach out and share your message with as many as you can, be-it by radio or even taking your blogs and publishing them in a book form or sending them to websites or publishers that will do your writing justice. Amanda you have a true calling, ministry work is not sitting a Facebook sharing messages with same people in your inner circle day in and day out. These people doing that are lonely, looking to fill a void in their lives. What are you really accomplishing? You are depriving many others from being able to benefit from your enormous talent as a writer. Guardian ad litems see a great deal, you should that of what you see with the world. You are doing real ministry work, you are taking actions. I’m not saying you need to return to us to max out your potential of truly helping others. You need to let the world know about Amanda Bruscella. Don’t be afraid. The Holy Spirit is trying to lead you on a pathway, the Holy Spirit knows what I know, you can help many.
