Thought For The Day 11/14/13

Let The Countdown Begin

I look forward to a time, in the not so distant future, when we no longer look forward to ‘firsts’ as milestones women have yet to achieve, but we look back on them as historic events that continue to teach and inspire.

29 days from today will be a huge anniversary for me. If fact, if MandysPath was a television or Broadway show, we would be having a cast and crew party with champagne, cake and balloons celebrating the event. But alas, the crew is just me and the cast….you my readers and the people and things I write about….are scattered, it seems, to the four corners of the universe. But celebrate I will, because it is still a milestone of some note. You see, on December 12th, 2013, just about two weeks before Christmas, I will have been sharing a “Thought” with you all, every single day for a thousand days!

Now a lot can happen in the space of a thousand days. Just think about Anne Boleyn, who in the space of this same number of days, went from being the captivating 18-year-old sister of the mistress of Henry VIII, to a queen that caused a fracturing in the Roman Catholic Church, to a pawn in the need for a male heir for the throne, to a woman brutally executed! And while MandysPath has nothing as dramatic to look back on as what Anne Boleyn experienced, the journey that brought me from those first baby steps of faith to the Mandy that sits here today, has been nothing less than inspired and, as far as I am concerned, is proof positive of a divine presence at work in my life and in the world!

Now I know that I have, in recent months, re-posted a few “oldies but goodies” that were updated before sharing. You see, as my faith has grown, so has my style of sharing my heart. But even when editing, I always tried to stay true to the original intent of what I wanted to share. And yet, the difference in my early posts is as huge as the Matterhorn is high and as my faith is deep. So I thought, to commemorate this auspicious occasion, I would share an unedited “oldie but goodie” every day and begin a brand new post on MandysPath  Day 1001.

So join me on this adventure as we relive what once was merely a newborn babe who struggled to discover the promise of a voice, to what is now one whose voice is raised in love, brotherhood, evangelism, and discipleship. Watch and experience the growth time and tide has wrought in my understanding of the mysteries of faith and Christ’s gift of salvation.

“Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.”

1 Corinthians 15:51-52 NASB
