“The more we let God take us over, the more truly ourselves we become – because He made us. He invented us. He invented all the different people that you and I were intended to be. . .It is when I turn to Christ, when I give up myself to His personality, that I first begin to have a real personality of my own.”

March 25th, 2011. I remember that morning like it was yesterday morning. I sat at my laptop, heart racing, as I realized that my life would never be the same again.

___

I had taken a journey down the information highway, and had chosen WordPress as the place to begin. And as I sat, fingers poised above the keyboard of my laptop, I really had no idea what I would write. Perhaps that was because I did not really have a firm grasp on exactly where He was leading me…..yet! But just as an infant gets the courage to let go and move away from the safety of his mother’s finger, so did I.

___

Thinking it necessary to begin at the beginning and simply go for it, I plunged ahead. I decided I would pen a brief paragraph about why I needed to write and what I hoped to accomplish with my “Thought”.

___

I wrote little about faith, and yet the paragraph was entirely about faith. There was no picture. There was no scripture reading. That would come later as would my quotes by a person of note, reflecting an insight into the concept I would share. But with baby steps, I began, and the following paragraph was my very first published “Thought”. No more, no less, and yet it seemed to say it all!

Hello World! Thought For The Day 03/25/11

I like the idea of posting a thought for the day. Not only does it require us to spend some time in quiet contemplation but then encourages us to give our thoughts and feelings a voice. Somehow, even a few minutes of introspection does wonders for giving one a fresh perspective of the issue being questioned and can go far in turning confusion and inaction into a clear and definitive solution. Or perhaps it’s just God leaning over our shoulder and whispering the answer in our ear when we’re finally ready, willing and able to understand it!

___

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

Isaiah 55:6-13 ESV
