The Seven Sparks

Post 1213

___

The seven sparks of Positive Jewish Living.

Love, Inspiration, Balance, Stillness, Uniqueness, Beneficence, and Awareness.

Inspired by a Facebook post by a friend!

___

One’s action ought to come out of an achieved stillness:  not to be a mere rushing on.

___

LOVE

I am free to love and be loved. (*a)

~

Are there any out there that can honestly say that they do not want or need for LOVE to enter their lives? I think not! LOVE is an emotion as old as the time man first took steps upon the earth. The saying that LOVE brings out the best in people is really true. We suddenly find our hearts overflowing with happiness when we are blissfully and completely in LOVE. And because the happiness is infectious, even as we become nicer to everyone around us because of it, like the rippled rings a pebble creates in the waters in which it is thrown, so will those we care for share this happiness. Of all of God’s blessings, there are few that would dispute that LOVE ranks at the top for the emotion that makes us the best we can be because we know the one we LOVE expects it from us!

___

INSPIRATION

I seek out those whose Divine light burns brightly. They help light my way. (*b)

~

INSPIRATION is the one thing that serves to keep us positive in our lives. INSPIRATION makes you feel happier, and vivacious because through its touch upon our hearts, we are destined to become the very best person we can possibly be and all of the tasks we perform just seem to fall into place and make sense! INSPIRATION painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and allowed man to take that first step upon the surface of the moon!

___

BALANCE

I nourish the world with healthy speech. I nourish my body with healthy food. (*c)

~

There is nothing more disconcerting for man than to feel as if he has no control over his life in the world as he knows it to be. Trying to keep all aspects of our life in harmony and working together optimally, we must strive to keep all that touches us in BALANCE! All of the things that make us uniquely us (mind, body, spirit) are co-dependent one on the other. How often have we found that by neglecting or abusing one area, just as surely as the touch of a finger can cause the rippling demise of a row of dominos, the rest of our life also falls to pieces as well? But working toward maintaining a healthy BALANCE in all that we do, makes life’s journey not just easier but more fulfilling, as well!

___

STILLNESS

Now is the most important moment. (*d)

~

Perhaps seeking out those moments of STILLNESS might not make sense to some people, but to me it was a Godsend….literally! It was through allowing the calming effects of STILLNESS to wash over me, that I felt God’s hand on my heart all those many months ago. And even to this day, I make it a point to retreat to that place of quiet and calm as often as I can. We all live such busy lives, and that is important, but so is the opportunity for spending some time in quiet reflection. That is what the gift of STILLNESS gives to us all. We can look inwardly and seek the solution for any problem that threatens us, if we but sit quietly for just a moment, clear our head of all distractions and think about what it is that has us asking our “why’s and wherefore’s”!

___

UNIQUENESS

My unique history gives me my vital perspective. (*e)

~

This one word sums up all that there is to each of us. We are all uniquely unique individuals, and that is the very important piece that makes each of us so very special. And while we might wish that we looked like the actress we love on TV, or were talented like our favorite singer, we all have our own very special gifts which we have the opportunity of sharing with the world. But often we become our own worst enemies when it comes recognizing the things we are blessed with. So stop! Step back! Look closely at the person that stares back in the mirror and recognize your own worth. Don’t just like yourself. Love yourself! And embracing all of your UNIQUENESS is the very first step!

___

BENEFICENCE

I am a builder, a creator, a contributor to life. (*f)

~

How many of us really understand the meaning of BENEFICENCE? And yet most of us strive to live our lives by its tenets. Most people seek to be moral people, living lives that will not just benefit us, but also all those other lives we touch every day. And yet the amazing thing about BENEFICENCE is that even as we seek to not just promote but to serve, as well, the well-being of others, we are the ones that truly reap the benefits of our actions. Even as we are gifting the world with the virtues of truth, wisdom, compassion and beauty, so do these things reflect back on the essence that is us!

___

AWARENESS

I am aware of my true essence and can distinguish my needs from my wants. (*g)

~

AWARENESS or more specifically, self-awareness is the dynamic that allows us the capacity to examine all of the pieces that make up the essence that is each of us. AWARENESS allows us to gain insight into all of the things that we have applied to living our lives,  evaluate their impact on the outcome of each day and then effect changes in things that might not have worked quite as well as we would have liked. AWARENESS gives us the capacity to set goals for the things we need to apply to the way we live so that we can build upon that established foundation that we each have so that all of our tomorrows will be even better than all of our yesterdays were!

Behold, I am standing at the door knocking: if any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.
